The Cottage

Malvern House is a pretty, three bedroom brick & flint cottage, tucked away in one of Norfolk's Quiet Lanes, surrounded by open countryside in the coastal village of Trimingham. The area boasts a wide range of lovely walking including the Norfolk Coastal Path, which is just 200 metres away. The owners have created a cosy interior, whilst retaining the country charm of this traditional cottage. Outside, there is an enclosed rear patio garden, where guests have plenty of room to relax and enjoy al fresco dining in the warmer months. Trimingham has some of the best cliff top views this part of the coast has to offer whilst still having easy access to nearby beaches. The lovely sandy Mundesley beach, beloved of bathers and surfers alike is just 5 minutes by car. This tranquil location is ideally located and within easy striking distance of everything the North Norfolk coastline has to offer, including the ever popular seaside town of Cromer.

On entering 4 Malvern House, you are welcomed into the cosy sitting room with a wood burning stove and comfortable sofas; the perfect room to curl up with a book and take time to relax. The sitting room leads through to the well-equipped light bright kitchen dining room with lots of work space for keen cooks and a large dining table leading out to the rear garden. There is a downstairs family shower room with a walk-in shower, loo and hand washbasin. The staircase from the main entrance leads upstairs to the rooms above.

Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom. The principal bedroom has a king size bed and together with the single bedroom overlooks the Quiet Lane at the front of the property. Bedroom Two at the rear has pretty countryside views and a double bed.

The owners of Malvern House have organised guest membership of Trimingham Leisure Centre, located nearby at the Woodland Holiday Park. With an indoor swimming pool and gym, the Centre is perfect for guests of all ages to enjoy, come rain or shine. There is a nominal charge to enjoy a swim or a trip to the gym. There is also a wonderful carvery there and other activities for families to enjoy.

Outside

The enclosed quiet patio garden backs onto fields beyond and is perfect for enjoying a morning coffee and dining outside during the summer.

The separate annex, which opens onto the garden, has a comfortable sofa and an armchair. Ideal for relaxing or reading a book. Equally, the annex is very handy for storing bicycles or surfboards if you are enjoying a more adventurous break.

There is parking on the private gated driveway, to the side of the cottage.

A great cottage with everything we needed! So central to everywhere – Wells next the sea – fabulous walk through the pine trees then out onto the beach! A trip round to Sea Palling, Horsey Gap to see the amazing seals, on to Winterton then back to Cromer for fish and chips! We go home with lungfuls of fresh sea air and look forward to returning to 4 Malvern House again in the future.

Four friends desperate for a break of the stresses of the year – one came across Malvern House … we loved the cosy cottage style and were blown away at how well equipped the house was – home from home! The fire on a cold night was a lovely bonus! Now, four friends and one dog leave refreshed and ready to take on the challenges of 2024! Would recommend 110%!

We have had a great week exploring this part of the wilder coast line. Lovely walks, great beaches enjoyed swimming in the sea and learning local history. Cottage clean, comfortable with all you need. Lovely and quiet area too. Thanks for the thoughtful gifts too x

Our family of four had such a lovely stay at the house. Lovely to be off the coast road making it easy to find our way about. Everything we could need indoors, very well appointed. Can’t believe the amount of books for all ages. My son (3) is obsessed with Henry Hoover so was so pleased to find one in the cupboard and be allowed to hoover the rug in the living room. So close to Cromer and Sheringham, lovely beaches. Both boys (3 and 8) loved rock pooling and swimming. Thanks for getting the stair gates.

We’ve had such a lovely stay and weeks break in [4]Malvern House in Trimingham. The kitchen diner has been our tranquil escape most nights and have enjoyed the court-yard with the doors open. The houses’ central location has meant we can head out for our excursions into Cromer Sheringham, Mundesley and Overstrand. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your wonderful house and hope to return one day soon!

We have had a wonderful holiday at 4 Malvern House which from the start felt welcoming, spotlessly clean and comfortable; we were very impressed how well fitted out and decorated it is – it feels like home from home. We explored the stunning countryside of Norfolk as far afield as Brancaster and in particular did some successful bird-spotting at Morston Quay, enjoyed the Poppy line and the coastal walk near Sheringham. All in all, countryside and house made our stay extremely restful and one to remember. We thoroughly recommend 4 Malvern House as a base to explore Norfolk and as one to have a period of unwinding from the stresses of normal daily life.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this delightful cottage. The private back garden with the use of a large outside room was a bonus – particularly if you have young children with you. The cottage is close to a bus stop which enabled us to explore the coastline without taking the car. We also walked directly from the cottage to the coastal path. It was stunning. The wild flowers were beautiful. Mundesley beach was excellent for a swim too. Numerous lovely pubs are nearby if you can tear yourself away from the peace and tranquillity of this cottage.

Location

Trimingham is a pretty quiet coastal village with outstanding cliff top views overlooking the sea and sandy beaches. Nearby beaches are popular with surfers, dog walkers and day and night fishermen alike. Surrounded by open countryside, there are many walking and cycling routes to choose from. The village sits in the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is within easy distance of many popular towns and villages. Cromer, well known for its beach and pier, North Walsham with excellent amenities and a train station and the Norfolk Broads are all within easy driving distance. If you enjoy country walks, Trimingham has plenty to offer with its footpaths and circular routes. Further afield you can visit some beautiful National Trust Properties or take a ride on the North Norfolk Railway (The Poppy Line), which runs between Holt and Sheringham.

In recent summers, a migratory colony of beautiful Bee Eaters have taken up residence in a sandpit near the house, which made headline news. Nearby Southrepps Common is an important area for wildlife.
