Lifeboat Cottage is cosy two-bedroom cottage in the heart of Brancaster dating back to the 18th Century. This pretty period cottage has been refurbished to a high standard and contains a charming mix of modern furnishings and traditional details, equipped with all you need for a relaxing stay.

Located centrally in the village but set back from the coast road, down a private lane, Lifeboat Cottage is within easy walking distance to all the village amenities, the beach and the coastal path. In fact the village shop and playing field are literally one minute away on foot.

On entering the cottage by they front door, you step into the main living space. Whilst the living space downstairs is essentially open plan, the sitting room is separate from the kitchen dining area and offers two comfy sofas and a relaxing space to watch some TV or curl up with a book.

The modern fitted kitchen and dining area are to the other side of the front door and benefit from windows both the front and rear of the cottage.

Upstairs there are two double bedrooms with a newly refitted WC separating them on the landing. The principal bedroom has a charming painted flint feature wall to the rear and the shower room which serves both bedrooms is en suite to this room.

The second bedroom is arranged as a twin room. Both look out to the front of the cottage.

Outside

Outside, the cottage is approached through five bar gates, which open to the gravelled area to the front of the cottage for parking. Immediately outside the cottage is a table and chairs for outside dining and a bench.

We had a lovely stay. The cottage itself was homely, very well equipped, and extremely clean. The guide book notes were very helpful especially if someone was coming from outside the area. We liked the fact it had parking too and a shop and pubs within walking distance. Eating out is quite pricey in the area so its useful to check websites and menus before booking a table. There were plenty of walks for people with dogs. It's a short drive to Hunstanton where there are plenty of extra amenities too. We visited Holme, Brancaster Staithe, Thornham Staithe, Deepdale café and shops, Drove Orchards and Hunstanton.Location 5/5Cleanliness 5/5Well equipped 5/5Value for money (in October) 5/5

Location

Lifeboat Cottage can be found set back off the main road whilst still in the heart of the village, Brancaster is one of the top spots to stay in North Norfolk centring around the harbour and its thriving fishing and sailing community.

The Norfolk Coast Footpath is right on the doorstep, running 47 miles along the North Norfolk Coast. The Beach offers miles of golden sand as far as the eye can see for you to walk on, relax on and build sandcastles. Popular with families throughout the year, it really is a bucket list beach to visit. The beach is within walking distance (probably 20 - 30 mins depending on your pace) but if you are carrying picnics and beach toys, you can drive down and park at beach car park, just a few steps from the sand.

The excellent village shop is literally one minute away on foot from the front door of the cottage and there is a car park here with access to the playing field and children's play area.

If you don't fancy cooking, The Ship Inn is just a bit further along in the village, maybe 10 minutes walk at most. It serves excellent food and is a lovely traditional pub.

Walking Distance to Shop: 2 mins
Walking Distance to Pub: 7 mins
Walking Distance to Beach: 20 - 30 mins
Driving Distance to Beach Car Park: 5 mins
Driving Distance to Supermarket: 15 mins to Hunstanton, 25 mins (Fakenham or Wells-next-the-Sea)
