The Cottage

Monarc House is a stunning reimagining of a traditional Norfolk Cottage. Having recently undergone a major programme of sympathetic refurbishment and extension, the attention to detail and standard of finishings throughout the cottage is exemplary. This is conjunction with beautiful furnishings and artistic touches, the calming palette of natural colours creates a fabulous luxury hideaway, tucked away in the heart of Baconsthorpe just a short step from the Georgian market town of Holt and the North Norfolk coastline.

On entering the cottage, you are welcomed into the dining room, with a natural flagstone floor which is seamlessly linked with the sitting room and the kitchen, this lovely room boasts a wonderful circular, natural stone, dining table and six chairs. The window to the front floods the room with light and the double sided wood burning stove is shared with the sitting room beyond. The sitting room forms part of the new extension and has natural sisal carpet and bi-fold doors opening out to the garden beyond. With a super comfortable sofa and armchairs, this is the perfect room to relax and escape from the world.

The kitchen, also with a natural stone floor, features a marble sink, solid wood worktops and windows out to the rear of the cottage. Superbly equipped with an electric range cooker with induction hob, dishwasher and fridge freezer, there is everything you need to whip up something tasty for supper. There's also a Nespresso coffee machine with a few starter pods.

Also downstairs is a funky downstairs loo, tucked away off the dining room through a sliding door.

Upstairs are three double bedrooms and the family bathroom. All arranged off the central landing, the principal bedroom has a king size bed, bedside lamps and built in cupboard space, with a window looking out to the view behind the cottage. Bedrooms two and three both have double beds, bedside lamps and built in cupboards, with windows to the front and rear respectively.

The chic family shower room is tiled in marble with a large walk in shower, WC and wash hand basin.

Outside

Approached from the quiet lane, there is parking for two cars to the rear of the cottage.

The terrace and garden can be accessed from the parking area or via a pedestrian gate from the lane. This pretty garden has a gravelled area to the front of the cottage and paved terrace to the side with planting which naturally softens the landscaping.

There is a garden shed, perfect for storing bicycles or surf boards, if you are of a more adventurous nature.

The house was beautifully decorated and very tasteful. Clearly there’s been a lot of love put into this property. Holt was only about 10 minutes drive with a very convenient Budgens for supplies and a beautiful High Street full of lovely cafés and shops and all the day trips we did were only about 20 minutes away a very lovely place to explore from.
