The Barn

This sensitively restored property has been part of the adjoining farm since the 1960s, with the master bedroom formerly used to house farrowing sows and their piglets. The remainder of The Hayloft, as the name suggests, was used to store hay along with other farm produce from potatoes to corn.

The beautiful conversion has created a luxurious two-bedroom holiday home which has maintained the integrity of the building, whilst retaining many original features, and given it a new lease of life.

The impressive open plan living area with stunning vaulted ceiling showcasing the original oak trusses is flooded with light from the full height windows and glazed French doors to the front, arrow slit windows and roof lights and further French doors out to the courtyard garden. This is a wonderful space to relax together as a family, creating tasty meals in the well equipped kitchen, eating together around the large dining table and relaxing on the comfy sofas, watching the large flat screen TV or reading a book.

Your kitchen area is complete with oven & hob, microwave, fridge freezer and washer/dryer.

There are two double bedrooms, both with king size beds. Downstairs, the principal bedroom has a vaulted ceiling, doors out to the courtyard garden and an en suite shower room with walk-in rainfall shower. Bedroom two is on the mezzanine level, overlooking the main living area.. The luxurious family bathroom with bath and separate shower is on the ground floor.

There is underfloor heating throughout, with individual controls in each room.

Outside

Approached from a quiet country lane and surrounded by farmland in rural north Norfolk, you may be able to spot deer and birds of prey while sipping a sundowner on your patio.

Cromer with its famous pier and golden sands is a short drive away as well as many other beautiful beaches on north Norfolk’s diverse coastline. The National Trust properties of Blickling and Felbrigg Hall are also close by. After a long distance walk on the Weavers Way or Norfolk Coastal Path why not treat yourself at the popular local pub or the renowned Gunton Arms.

There is parking for two cars to the front of the property and a charming fully enclosed patio garden with outside dining furniture to the rear.

Agents Note

The Hay Loft is one of two beautiful barn conversions, adjacent to each other, yet completely separate and each with their own wonderful character. You might want to look at Snipe Meadow Barn too!

This was a really lovely place to stay for 5 nights. It was spotless and had everything we could need. The added touch of cake and biscuits on arrival was really appreciated. The bathrooms were spacious with lovely showers and a big bath in one. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was very well equipped.

We had a lovely stay at The Hay Loft over the August bank holiday weekend. Gorgeous place and just as shown in the pictures, it did not disappoint. Lovely and roomy with everything that we needed for our stay. Super location which was easy to find with the instructions provided. Just a short drive away from the local Waitrose and 10 mins to Cromer and the coast. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of The Hay Loft and would defo stay again next time we are in the area. The welcome gift & beautiful cakes were also much appreciated upon our arrival too. Overall a great stay and highly recommended 😃

I recently had a lovely stay at the Hayloft in Suffield. The barn is absolutely beautiful and felt very homely. We were greeted with fresh flowers, a delicious homemade cake and a lovely welcome basket. It was spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend it, I felt very chilled after my stay.
