The Cottage

The Tao House, is a one bedroom wooden lodge, situated in Sheringwood, Beeston Regis, two miles south east of Sheringham and an Area of Outstanding Beauty. Completely unique and the perfect retreat for getting away.

For thirteen years it was home to Art Is MedicineUK and provided sanctuary, a place to recharge and gain the insight for individuals and families to radically improve the quality of their lives. Now thoughtfully converted into a self-catering cottage, the extraordinary sense of welcome and peace endures. The perfect location for complete relaxation with walking, cycling and bird watching on your doorstep. Enjoy the spectacular big skies of Norfolk, varied landscapes and the expanse of beaches.

The Tao house is full of colour, art and textures and arranged on one floor, with a fabulous open plan sitting and kitchen, one double bedroom and loo and walk in shower. A fantastic coastal retreat for a re-charge, accommodating up to two guests in total.

The Tao House is approached from its own gravel drive and with ample parking and outside lighting. On arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your hosts Annie and Katrina.

Entering through the hallway, you walk into the inviting bright and airy sitting room with vaulted ceilings, designed for comfortable living with two sofas, an armchair, coffee table, woodburning stove and Apple TV, perfect for curling up in front of for the evening. To the side there are sliding doors leading out to a second patio, with garden furniture. The perfect space for al fresco dining in the summer months and with a barbeque provided. The double bedroom leads off the sitting room with a bedside table and lamp each side.

The well fitted kitchen has a good size work space with pop up counter top, larder fridge with freezer compartment, Air Fryer, induction hob, microwave and slimline dishwasher. There is no fitted oven but a portable halogen oven is available in the cottage. A Nespresso machine is available but please bring your own pods.

The shower room leads off the kitchen with a walk in shower, loo and basin. The kitchen area and shower room both have underfloor heating.

Outside

The cottage has its own front garden and south facing decked patio area with garden furniture, which makes for wonderful al fresco dining in the summer months. For keen cyclists, there is also a side passage for bike storage.

Location

Sheringwood, Beeston Regis is best known for being an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with views from its highest viewpoint of the coast. There are plenty of walks on your doorstep, with a woodland walk to Sheringham town and the beach. There are also plenty of other walks, following the coastal path in either direction. West Runton beach is also closeby or Cromer a little further afield.

Sheringham, lies just 2 miles away and is a thriving seaside town with a fantastic selection of independent shops, cafes, pubs, tea rooms and wine bars. There are plenty of lovely cafés to choose from, including the Grey Seal and the Sitting Room and wonderful pubs for cold drinks or a pub lunch. Cromer is only 4.5 miles in the opposite direction and also a bustling seaside town, full of independent shops, pubs and cafes.

If you want to go further afield The Tao House is perfectly placed to serve as a base for exploring everything the North Norfolk Coast has to offer.
