Afternoon tea fit for the King! The delicious French inspired Café Benji at Jarrolds in Norwich is now doing afternoon tea en Français – the perfect addition to shopping!

We’re British, of course we love a good pub! After an autumnal ramble along the marshes and beach at Cley-next-the-Sea, pop into The George & Dragon for a well-deserved lunch. It’s Hetti’s favourite spot for a roast at the moment too! Even better, they’re offering our guests a free pint, a glass of house wine or soft drink when you order a two course meal – view our Guest Rewards page! On sunny days, the beer garden makes a fab G&T with its own cocktail bar and covered seating area. There’s something to tempt all appetites, so take a peek at their menu! Spyglass Cottage is also a short stroll away with panoramic views of the marshes if you’re after a place to stay…

Roast season! We love a roast here at Big Skies. I recently had a gorgeous one at The Walpole Arms in Itteringham. Chefs kiss! Lovely staff and country interiors too. Here are some of the best places for a roast in North Norfolk, but you’ll have to try for yourself! The Gunton Arms in Thrope Market, The Brisley Bell in Brisley, Lifeboat Inn in Thornham, Dun Cow in Salthouse, The Langham Bluebell in Langham, The Bucks Arms in Blickling, The Ship Inn in Weybourne & The Ship Inn in Mundesley.

There’s many beautiful country houses and estates to visit in these quieter months and of course the vast beaches too. For the rainier days, Gressenhall Farm & Workhouse, Cromer Museum, Henry Blogg Museum, Muckleburgh Military Museum, Blickling EstateHolkham Hall and Sandringham. Whatever the weather, The Poppy Line nips from Sheringham to Holt on a vintage engine, while the Wells and Walsingham Light Railway, the world’s smallest public railway, is seriously cute.

Enjoy!

Best wishes,

Izzie
