Holkham beach is a widely recognised as being one of the finest beaches in Norfolk, the beach itself is a vast stretch of unspoilt golden sand which seem to go on for ever. The feeling of the sky and the meeting is just magical.
Not only is the beach an ideal place to take the dogs, Holkham Beach is also Horse Friendly. Horse boxes can be parked at the south end of Lady Anne’s Drive. Additionally, there is an equine access path which runs to the west of the pedestrian walkway and avoids the wooden boardwalk and steps onto the beach.
Unsurprisingly, Holkham is also a haven for nature with the beach backing onto windswept dunes, salt marshes and the Holkham Pines. Through which you can walk to easterly to Wells next The Sea or to the west to take you Burnham Overy Staithe.
The Lookout Café serves light snacks, hot and cold drinks.
Toilets are available, including an accessible toilet and baby changing facilities.
Even in the summer you will be able to find a peaceful spot at Holkham; in the winter you can find solitude should you desire.
