Start the New Year with a spring clean for your Rental Property.
After all the busi-ness of the festive period along with the decorations and clutter, it’s nice to start the new year with a spring clean and a property refresh. Guests looking to escape in January are often feeling tired after a few weeks of hosting and socializing, they are seeking calm but fresh interiors to retreat to for a reset getaway. People have often set goals for the year and just need that break from it all to get motivated and ready to start again. Here’s a few tips to get your property refreshed and ready for the year!
1 – Remove all signs of the festive period – removing festive décor after the period has ended although can feel very bare, will give you a good chance to spring clean and notice anything that needs doing or updating.
2 – Would your property benefit from a re-paint? January can often be classed as a quieter period for holiday rentals so could be the perfect time for any decorating jobs that need doing.
3 – Check your property for any snagging jobs – take note of any little jobs that need doing or updating that you couldn’t do during the busy periods.
4 – Does your colour scheme create a calm but invigorating mood? – Adding spring bedding and accessories prior to spring creates marketing opportunities for new photos, website or social images.
5 – Set out your calendar for the year, when are your electrical and gas certificates due? When will your septic tank need emptying, when will you need to think about your flower beds and what will you plant? How many jobs can you get booked in so you know your organised for the year ahead.

7 – Property maintenance plan – get in touch with your property maintenance agent and discuss the year ahead what will need doing and when? Pop this onto a spread sheet as a easy reference go to, you can also tick them and date them so you know they are done.
